Healthcare SEO has a higher burden of proof than ordinary service marketing. Private clinics and health providers need pages that are technically clear, locally visible and easy to verify.

They also need qualified practitioners to own the clinical information. My role covers search structure, technical SEO and E-E-A-T presentation. I don't write medical advice or make clinical claims.

I work with the site's real services, locations, practitioners and review process. The goal is better visibility and more relevant enquiries. Clinical content remains with the clinicians who are qualified to author or approve it.

Why Healthcare SEO Has Higher Standards

Healthcare pages fall within Google's Your Money or Your Life category because inaccurate information can affect a person's wellbeing or decisions. Generic copy fails because it gives readers and search systems no reliable way to judge who created the information, whether it was reviewed or when it was updated.

Experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust are often shortened to E-E-A-T. On a healthcare site those signals need visible evidence.

Practitioner profiles should state genuine qualifications, professional registrations, relevant roles and the pages each practitioner reviews. The site should also show ownership, contact details, editorial responsibility and accurate update dates.

The content itself needs a controlled process. A freelancer shouldn't invent clinical explanations from search results.

A clinic shouldn't publish pages that imply guaranteed results or hide the person responsible for the information. My guide to E-E-A-T in SEO explains how evidence and presentation support visibility without turning a page into a list of unsupported badges.

Technical quality matters as well. Broken booking paths, duplicate location pages, inconsistent practitioner details and missing canonicals weaken trust before anyone considers the wording. Higher standards apply across the whole journey.

What a Healthcare SEO Consultant Does

A healthcare SEO consultant organises verified information around the services and locations people are actually looking for. The work doesn't replace clinical governance. It makes that governance visible and keeps technical faults from obscuring it.

Service and condition page architecture. I map service pages, supporting condition information and location coverage so each has a distinct purpose. Clinicians decide what clinical information is accurate and appropriate. I define the search intent, page structure and internal links.

Author and reviewer presentation. I connect each clinical page to a real author or reviewer profile. Schema can describe the person, organisation and review relationship when the underlying facts exist. It must not manufacture expertise or imply a review that didn't happen.

Local SEO for practices. I align genuine locations, Google Business Profiles, service pages and contact information. Local SEO is especially important for practices where calls, directions and bookings begin in local search.

Technical auditing. I check crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, duplicate pages, booking links, structured data and mobile behaviour. A technical SEO audit prioritises faults by their effect on visibility and enquiries.

Reputation signals. Reviews, policies, complaints information and professional details must be accurate and attributable. I structure those signals for clarity. I don't invent reviews or turn patient feedback into a claim about clinical outcomes.

What Clients Say

The SEO work delivered real results — I’m seeing more clicks compared to this time last year in Google Analytics, without having to spend loads on advertising. Super impressed.

Dr Shaan Patel

Founder, Aatma Aesthetics · UK

Before working with Sunny, we were getting around 180 organic visits a month. Nine months later we’re at 620 and enquiries from organic have tripled.

James W.

Director · Reading

We went from invisible in local pack to ranking in the top 3 for our main service terms within 5 months. The increase in enquiry rate was roughly 3×.

Sarah M.

Partner, professional services firm · Berkshire

Sunny’s topical map approach was unlike any other SEO work we’d had before. Within 6 months we were ranking for terms we’d never appeared for.

The monthly reporting is clear, honest and always tied to actual business outcomes — not just vanity metrics.

Healthcare Providers I Work With

The same search principles apply across different healthcare business models but the content responsibility never changes. I support private clinics, dental practices, aesthetics providers, physiotherapy practices, mental health practices, care providers and multi-location healthcare groups.

A dental practice may need strong service and location relationships. A multi-site provider needs clear ownership of each location and consistent practitioner information.

A care provider may need separate paths for families, commissioners and job applicants. An aesthetics site may have overlapping service names that require careful page separation.

The starting point is the provider's own services, practitioners, compliance process and Search Console data. Where clinical review is missing, that gap must be fixed by the provider before clinical pages are treated as publication-ready.

Content, Compliance and Who Writes It

Healthcare content should be authored or reviewed by a qualified practitioner with relevant expertise. I provide search research, page structures, content briefs, internal linking plans, schema requirements and technical implementation guidance. The clinician supplies or signs off the clinical substance.

That division is deliberate. I can show which question a page needs to answer and how supporting information should be organised.

I cannot decide whether a statement about a condition, procedure, suitability or risk is clinically correct. The named practitioner and provider own that decision.

Advertising compliance also stays with the provider. ASA and CAP requirements plus your professional regulator's guidance (GMC, GDC, HCPC or NMC as relevant) sit within your compliance team's remit.

I build the search and content system around the approvals, wording and evidence your team provides. I don't reinterpret those standards as medical or legal advice.

The publishing workflow should record who wrote the page, who reviewed it and when that review happened. Each date must describe a real event. A site-wide footer date isn't evidence that every clinical page was reviewed on that date.

Healthcare SEO Questions

Does Google treat healthcare websites differently?

Yes. YMYL pages need demonstrable expertise, clear author credentials and accurate content that qualified practitioners have authored or reviewed.

Who writes the medical content?

Your clinicians author or review the medical content. I provide the search structure, briefs, schema and technical work while the provider retains responsibility for clinical accuracy and approval.

How do you measure healthcare SEO?

I measure healthcare SEO through enquiries, calls, bookings and visibility for service and location terms. I never use clinical outcomes as an SEO performance measure.
