Wix has improved. It still has limits. I tell you which is which for your site, fix what can be fixed on-platform and plan the move if you have outgrown it.

Wix is no longer the automatic SEO problem it once was. Small and medium sites can rank on it when the structure, content and settings are handled properly. The real question is whether Wix still fits the scale and technical needs of your particular site.
I fix what the platform lets us fix and explain the limits it doesn't remove. If a Wix site can support the growth plan, I keep it. If a specific platform constraint is blocking the work, I build the evidence and migration plan before anyone changes CMS.

What Wix Does Well for SEO Now
Wix now covers the foundations most small service and portfolio sites need. Its SEO settings panel provides control over titles, descriptions, canonicals and indexation for standard page types. Page-level settings are accessible without editing a theme or adding a separate plugin.
Structured data controls have also improved. Site owners can use built-in markup and adjust schema for supported page types. Server-side rendering means core page content is available in the initial HTML rather than depending entirely on a browser to build the page.
Wix has invested in Core Web Vitals and image delivery. That doesn't make every template fast. Large media files, third-party apps and animation can still slow a page, but the platform itself is no longer a reason to assume failure.
The practical result is straightforward. A well-built Wix site can compete for local and niche service searches.
It still needs clear pages, useful content, internal links and genuine authority. A platform setting cannot replace those parts.
Where Wix Still Limits SEO
Wix becomes restrictive when a site needs deeper URL control, complex content relationships or hundreds of generated pages. The limits matter at scale more than they matter on a 20-page service site.
URL structures remain tied to Wix page types and routing rules. Blog categories and larger editorial structures can be harder to shape around a precise topical hierarchy. A business with several services, locations, audiences and content hubs may outgrow the available collection structure.
Apps create another variable. Booking tools, galleries, chat widgets and marketing integrations can inject scripts or duplicate functions across the site. The owner gains a feature but may also add loading work and markup that is difficult to control.
Crawl control is less granular than it is on a platform with server access and fully custom routing. A site with faceted navigation, large member areas or hundreds of near-identical records may need rules Wix cannot express cleanly. A WordPress SEO consultant can assess the alternative when the requirement is specific to a more extensible CMS.

What a Wix SEO Consultant Does
A Wix SEO consultant separates page, content and authority problems from real platform constraints. Blaming Wix for every ranking problem leads to unnecessary migrations. Ignoring genuine limits leaves the team trying to force a growth model into the wrong tool.
SEO audit. I crawl the site and review indexation, templates, metadata, canonicals, structured data, internal links, mobile performance and Google Search Console. The findings show what can be fixed inside Wix and what is controlled by the platform.
On-page and schema setup. I configure the available SEO settings, improve titles and headings, remove page overlap and add appropriate structured data describing the site's real services, people and organisations.
Site structure. I organise services, locations, case studies and guides around distinct search intent. For a smaller business the right small business SEO plan usually needs fewer stronger pages rather than a large set of copied variants.
Content plan. I map the questions and comparisons that support the commercial pages. Each guide has a defined route into a relevant service rather than sitting in an isolated blog archive.
Wix Studio review. Wix Studio offers more responsive and design control than the classic editor. It still needs the same search discipline. I review the chosen layout, dynamic pages and performance against the content plan rather than treating Studio as an automatic SEO upgrade.

When to Stay on Wix and When to Migrate
Stay on Wix when the site has a manageable number of pages, standard service or portfolio needs and no blocked technical requirement. A redesign or CMS move introduces cost and migration risk. It isn't a reward for reaching a certain traffic level.
Consider a migration when the site needs complex URL structures, large editorial taxonomies, custom server behaviour or content at a scale the collections cannot manage cleanly. A business may also move when key integrations add enough script or routing complexity to undermine the experience.
The decision needs a named constraint. "WordPress is better for SEO" isn't enough.
I document what Wix prevents, what the replacement will enable and how the benefit will be measured. An SEO migration consultant plan then protects URLs, content, internal links and existing visibility through the move.
The platform comparison should include who will maintain the new site. A flexible CMS can create more problems than it solves when nobody owns updates, security and template quality. The guide to WordPress versus Webflow shows why operational fit matters alongside technical freedom.

No longer for small and medium sites. Wix becomes limiting when a site grows beyond a few hundred pages or needs complex URL, taxonomy and crawl controls.
Can you rank a Wix site on page one?
Yes. A Wix site can rank on page one for local and niche terms when it has clear structure, useful content, appropriate schema and enough authority.
Should I move from Wix to WordPress?
Only when a specific Wix limit is blocking growth. I assess the site before recommending a migration so the business doesn't take on cost and ranking risk without a defined benefit.
