Most SEO advice is written for small businesses with a single website and a handful of pages. That is not your world. If you are running SEO for an organisation with thousands (or millions) of URLs, multiple brands, distributed teams, and legacy infrastructure, you need an enterprise SEO consultant who understands how large organisations actually operate.

I am Sunny Patel, and I work with enterprise teams across the UK to build SEO programmes that scale. Not quick fixes — sustainable, governed, cross-functional strategies that survive reorgs, platform migrations, and shifting priorities.

What makes enterprise SEO different

Enterprise SEO is not "normal SEO but bigger." The challenges are fundamentally different.

Scale changes everything. When your site has 50,000 or 5 million pages, you cannot manually optimise each one. You need templated solutions, automated auditing pipelines, and prioritisation frameworks that focus effort where it moves the needle. A single template change can affect hundreds of thousands of pages — for better or worse.

Stakeholder complexity. In a small business, the person who approves the SEO work is often the person who implements it. In an enterprise, you might need sign-off from product, engineering, legal, brand, and compliance before a title tag change goes live. The ability to build business cases, communicate in commercial terms, and navigate internal politics is as important as technical knowledge.

Legacy technical debt. Most enterprise sites have been through multiple redesigns, CMS migrations, and acquisitions. The result is layers of technical debt — orphaned URL structures, conflicting canonical strategies, inconsistent schema markup, and redirect chains that have been accumulating for a decade. Untangling this without breaking what already works requires careful, methodical execution.

Governance gaps. Without clear SEO governance, different teams publish content that cannibalises each other, developers push changes that break indexing, and brand guidelines conflict with search best practice. Enterprise SEO requires frameworks and documentation, not just recommendations.

Common enterprise SEO challenges

These are the problems I see most often when working with large organisations.

Site migrations gone wrong. Enterprise migrations — whether replatforming, domain consolidation, or internationalisation — are high-risk events. I have seen migrations destroy years of organic growth because redirect mapping was incomplete, staging environments were accidentally indexed, or nobody tested how the new CMS handled pagination. I provide migration planning, risk assessment, and post-migration monitoring to protect your traffic.

Multi-brand architecture. When an organisation operates multiple brands, the question of domain strategy becomes critical. Separate domains, subdomains, or subdirectories? Shared link equity or isolated authority? These decisions have long-term consequences for crawl budget, brand authority, and content strategy. There is no universal answer — it depends on your commercial model.

Cross-department coordination. The SEO team wants to ship optimised landing pages. The dev team is mid-sprint on a product feature. The content team is writing for brand, not search. Legal needs to review every claim. Without a structured process, SEO work sits in backlogs indefinitely. I help teams build workflows that integrate SEO into existing processes rather than competing with them.

Slow development cycles. When engineering resources are scarce and release cycles are quarterly, you cannot afford to waste dev time on low-impact SEO tickets. I help prioritise technical recommendations by modelled impact, bundle changes into efficient deployment packages, and identify fixes that content or marketing teams can implement without engineering involvement.

What Clients Say

The SEO work delivered real results — I’m seeing more clicks compared to this time last year in Google Analytics, without having to spend loads on advertising. Super impressed.

Before working with Sunny, we were getting around 180 organic visits a month. Nine months later we’re at 620 and enquiries from organic have tripled.

We went from invisible in local pack to ranking in the top 3 for our main service terms within 5 months. The increase in enquiry rate was roughly 3×.

Sunny’s topical map approach was unlike any other SEO work we’d had before. Within 6 months we were ranking for terms we’d never appeared for.

My enterprise SEO services

I offer a focused set of services designed for the realities of large-scale SEO.

Technical audits at scale. Not a generic crawl report — a prioritised, commercially-framed technical SEO audit that accounts for your architecture, your tech stack, and your team's capacity. I use log file analysis, large-scale crawl data, and Core Web Vitals monitoring to identify the issues that actually affect rankings and revenue.

Content governance. I build content frameworks that prevent cannibalisation, enforce topical clustering, and align editorial output with search demand. This includes keyword mapping at scale, content lifecycle policies, and publishing guidelines that your content teams can follow independently. If you need to build genuine topical authority across competitive verticals, this is where it starts.

Crawl budget management. For sites with millions of URLs, how Google allocates crawl resources directly affects how quickly new content gets indexed and how efficiently changes propagate. I audit crawl waste — faceted navigation, parameter-based duplicates, thin index bloat — and implement controls that focus Googlebot on your highest-value pages.

International SEO. Multi-market, multi-language sites introduce hreflang complexity, duplicate content risk, and domain architecture decisions that most SEO consultants have never dealt with at scale. As an international SEO consultant, I have managed hreflang implementations across dozens of locales and resolved the indexing issues that come with them.

Structured data across thousands of pages. Schema markup at enterprise scale cannot be managed manually. I design templated structured data strategies — product, FAQ, article, organisation, breadcrumb — that deploy consistently across your site architecture and adapt as your content model evolves.

How I work with enterprise teams

I operate as an embedded consultant. That means I do not hand over a PDF and disappear. I work alongside your developers, product managers, content strategists, and marketing leads as a specialist resource within your existing workflows.

In practice, this looks like:

  • With engineering: Prioritised technical tickets written in their language, with clear acceptance criteria and implementation guidance. I join sprint planning where needed and review deployments for SEO impact.
  • With product: Ensuring new features, URL structures, and user journeys are search-friendly from the design phase — not retrofitted after launch.
  • With content: Keyword strategy, content briefs, cannibalisation audits, and editorial calendars aligned to search demand and commercial priority.
  • With leadership: Monthly reporting that connects SEO activity to commercial outcomes — revenue, pipeline, market share — not just rankings and traffic.

This model works because enterprise SEO fails when it is siloed. The consultant who only talks to the marketing team will never get engineering to implement their recommendations. I bridge that gap.

If you are exploring broader SEO consulting options or comparing approaches, I am happy to discuss how an embedded model compares to agency retainers or in-house hires.

Industries I work with

I have delivered enterprise SEO programmes across several sectors, each with distinct challenges.

Financial services. Regulatory constraints on content, strict compliance review processes, and YMYL scrutiny from Google. SEO here requires patience, precision, and close collaboration with legal teams.

Retail and ecommerce. Product catalogue management, faceted navigation, seasonal inventory changes, and marketplace competition. The technical challenges are immense, but the commercial upside is direct and measurable.

SaaS and technology. Product-led growth, documentation sites, programmatic landing pages, and competitive content marketing in crowded verticals. Speed of iteration matters here.

Publishing and media. Content volume, news SEO, paywalled content handling, and Core Web Vitals across ad-heavy page templates. Crawl budget and indexing efficiency are constant priorities.

Travel and hospitality. Location-based pages at scale, multi-language content, user-generated reviews, and intense competition from aggregators. Structured data and local search integration are critical.

Pricing

Enterprise SEO consulting is not a fixed-price product. The scope, complexity, and duration vary significantly between organisations. A mid-sized SaaS company with 10,000 pages and a single domain has different needs to a multinational retailer with 2 million URLs across 15 markets.

I typically work on retained engagements of three to twelve months, with pricing based on scope and time commitment. For a detailed breakdown of how SEO consulting fees work, see my guide on how much does SEO cost.

The best starting point is a conversation. I will ask about your current SEO maturity, your team structure, your technical stack, and your commercial objectives — then propose a scope and fee that matches.
